A well-balanced attack led the Milford Tigers over the Escalante Moquis in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Milford blew past the Moquis 50-25. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Milford had established a 21 point advantage.
Milford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tayleah Spaulding led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Miley Willden, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Escalante still got an impressive performance from Mazee Dunton, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Milford now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Escalante, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Milford is on the road again on Wednesday and plays the Buffalos at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Valley is ranked 77th, while the Tigers are ranked 81st). Escalante does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
