After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wake Forest, Northern Durham was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans 16-1. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Brynley Standifer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, AnnaClaire Spell and Roxy Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Spell scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Nelson went 2-for-4 with six RBI, one run, and one double.
