The Wakulla War Eagles will head out to challenge the South Walton Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wakulla will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Wakulla strolled past Godby with points to spare, taking the game 38-21.

Wakulla got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Klees out in front who threw for 171 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 81 yards on only 11 carries. Klees is becoming a predictor of the War Eagles' success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Jayden Jean also helped with two scores in total.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wakulla was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wakulla's defense and their three sacks. Antonio Harvey was especially locked on to Godby's QB and sacked him twice. Harvey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last contest, South Walton made sure to put some points up on the board against Freeport on Friday. The Seahawks blew past the Bulldogs, posting a 50-9 victory. That 41 point margin sets a new team best for the Seahawks this season.
Wakulla better keep an eye on William Justiss. He was instrumental in South Walton's win, rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for two yards and one TD. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Justiss a new career-high. Gabe Parenton also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.
South Walton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Connor Rooney. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Wakulla's record now sits at 5-2. As for South Walton, their record is now an identical 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Wakulla against South Walton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 37-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the War Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
