Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to post ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Snow Canyon Warriors proved on Wednesday. They came out on top against Desert Hills by a score of 64-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Snow Canyon.
Owen Mackay was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Iloa, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Desert Hills lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Chase, who scored 20 points. Mason Rasmussen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Desert Hills struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Snow Canyon pushed their record up to 10-6 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Desert Hills, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8.
Snow Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Desert Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pine View at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Pine View's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
