The Cambridge Academy Cougars fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Patriots 52-47. Cambridge Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wardlaw Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played last Tuesday.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Wiley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Wiley has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Lee, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Cambridge Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Wardlaw Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Cambridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wardlaw Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Richard Winn Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Richard Winn Academy will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Wardlaw Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
