The Crossland Cavaliers will take on the Potomac Wolverines at TBD on Tuesday. Crossland is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses.
Crossland suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Oxon Hill, falling 73-17. While losing is never fun, Crossland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Oxon Hill is ranked 52nd).
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Potomac, who are still winless after their seventh game. They were dealt a 77-0 loss at the hands of Friendly on Thursday. That was the first shutout Potomac has experienced all year.
Crossland has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Potomac, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Things could have been worse for Crossland, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-40 loss to Potomac in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Crossland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
