Luther Prep will be up against a hot Living Word Lutheran team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Timberwolves never let Heritage Christian get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Thursday. The Timberwolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Gavin Weissenburger
Gavin Weissenburger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Living Word Lutheran is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Weissenburger was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Gavin LaPerriere was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Gabe Lambrecht was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Living Word Lutheran hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage Christian struck out eight times.
Meanwhile, Luther Prep had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Kenosha Christian Life with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. The contest marked the Phoenix's most dominant win of the season so far.
Danny Taylor and Micah Westendorf did most of the damage at the plate: Taylor went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Westendorf went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Proctor, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Luther Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Living Word Lutheran, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Luther Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Living Word Lutheran hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Luther Prep, though, as they've only averaged .224. Will they be able to contain Living Word Lutheran's hitters?
Living Word Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Luther Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
