Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Atlantic Christian

Atlantic Christian took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Leonard, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Sharks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Lancers on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Atlantic Christian was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 21-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Jonathan Gonzalez had a dynamite game, getting six digs and one block. What's more, he racked up 35 assists, the most he's had over his last five matchups.

Atlantic Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive games.

Atlantic Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6. As for Leonard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atlantic Christian will venture away from home to take on Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leonard, they will head out to square off against Wellington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
