Johnson took a 42-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewisville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for C.A. Johnson in their matchups with Lewisville: they've now lost five in a row.
Lewisville found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Murrell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Murrell has scored at least 25% of Lewisville's points. Madison Dawkins was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
C.A. Johnson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Lewisville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Governor's School for Science & Math the next time they take the court. Lewisville will host Governor's School for Science & Math at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while C.A. Johnson will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
