Paxton is 8-2 against Bethlehem since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Paxton Bobcats will head out on the road to square off against the Bethlehem Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Paxton stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Walton with a sharp 67-46 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Paxton has posted since November 30, 2023.
Paxton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sawyer Adams, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Adams has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Stewart, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bethlehem had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Holmes County 75-72. Bethlehem's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Paxton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Bethlehem, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Paxton was able to grind out a solid win over Bethlehem in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 52-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paxton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
