TERRA Environmental posted their biggest win since December 6, 2023 on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 47-26 margin over Florida Christian. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.
Shannon Greene continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Angie Barrios, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Homestead stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They claimed a resounding 50-16 win over Colonial Christian at home. Given Homestead's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Colonial Christian is ranked 553rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
TERRA Environmental's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Homestead, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
TERRA Environmental suffered a grim 45-23 defeat to Homestead in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Homestead's Caitylyn Gibson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds.
