After two games on the road, Tallassee is heading back home. They will take on the Barbour County Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tallassee will be strutting in after a win while Barbour County will be coming in after a defeat.
Tallassee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season. They took their game on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-38 victory over Ellwood Christian.
Rowen Thornton was his usual excellent self, scoring 50 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Tallassee's points. Monkia Hooks was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Meanwhile, Barbour County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 74-32 loss at the hands of Charles Henderson. While losing is never fun, Barbour County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Charles Henderson is ranked 170th).
Tallassee has yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-3 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Barbour County, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-5 record last season and are now at 0-3.
