Baseball Recap: Mexico Has No Trouble Against Moberly

Moberly typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Mexico proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sam Ryan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hilderman, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Mexico is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Moberly, their loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 22-5.

Coincidentally, Mexico and Moberly will both be playing North Callaway the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
