The Sardis Lions will challenge the Douglas Eagles at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Sardis is coming into the  game on  a  five-game losing streak.
On Friday, Sardis was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  28-24 to Boaz. Despite 65 more yards than the Pirates, the Lions couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Grant Coe, who threw for 132 yards and one  touchdown while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 51 yards.  Jordan Garrett also deserves some recognition as  he  posted his first  receiving yards of the season.
 Sardis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Cole Lankford and  Lamont Richardson.
Meanwhile, Douglas started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Arab. They fell  21-14 to the Knights on Friday. The Eagles have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
 Despite the  defeat, Douglas saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Keilan Green picked up 73 receiving yards and one  TD, and also rushed for 48 yards.
 Sardis' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
 Sardis took their  win against Douglas  in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024 by a conclusive  20-0 score. Will the Lions repeat their success,  or do  the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
