The Emery Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Delta Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Emery has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Emery pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Juab by a score of 61-58.
Despite the loss, Emery saw an underclassman step up: Kenadie Maughan dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Maughan. Another player making a difference was Aliya Lester, who scored 16 points.
Delta can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Juan Diego Catholic by a score of 41-33.
Emery has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Delta, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Emery was able to grind out a solid victory over Delta in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 60-50. Will Emery repeat their success, or does Delta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
