The Indio Rajahs can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Monday. They breezed by Banning at home to the tune of 85-49. The victory was familiar territory for Indio who now have six in a row.
Jayden Gonzalez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last 12 times he's played. Darren Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Banning's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Riley Aguilar, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and two blocks, and Junior Dunahoo who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Aguilar is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Franky Salazar, who scored six points.
Indio is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Banning, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indio will take on the RAMS at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Mirage comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Banning, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. Yucca Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 449 points over their last six matchups.
