Even though the Chamberlain Storm scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Steinbrenner Warriors still came out on top. Steinbrenner snuck past Chamberlain with a 59-55 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Steinbrenner also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
It was another big night for Justice Momrik, who scored 22 points along with two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Lind, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Chamberlain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tysin Jolly, who scored 15 points. Jolly continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of DeVonte Spears, who scored 11 points.
Steinbrenner's victory bumped their record up to 3-21. As for Chamberlain, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
Steinbrenner is on the road again on Thursday and plays Riverview at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st. Steinbrenner is facing Riverview at the right time seeing as Riverview is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Chamberlain, they will head out on the road to take on Middleton at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chamberlain is coming into the matchup with five straight losses on the road, meaning Middleton will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
