The Middle College Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Stella High Charter Academy on the road to the tune of 80-30. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Middle College as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
Middle College's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Amanze Njoku, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Njoku has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lebron Hasan, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Middle College pushed their record up to 5-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Stella High Charter Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-18.
Middle College will be playing at home against New West Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stella High Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Math & Science College Preparatory at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Math & Science College Preparatory will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
