They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kemper Academy Rams on Thursday, sneaking past 10-8. The win was a breath of fresh air for the FLYERS as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ragen Tapley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kirklynn Roberts, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayleigh Gatewood, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Meridian HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
