The Lake Mary Prep Griffins will take on the Circle Christian Centurions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lake Mary Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Central Florida Christian Academy with a sharp 14-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Griffins considering their two-run performance the game before.
Malachi Beedle and Landon Trauger made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Beedle tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Trauger struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). At bat, Beedle scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Trauger scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Brodie Bouley was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Payne Fitzmaurice was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Lake Mary Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Florida Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .385.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Circle Christian sidestepped Orlando Christian Prep for a 7-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Centurions.
Circle Christian's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elliot Rosario, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Grant Lion, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Lake Mary Prep's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3. As for Circle Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Lake Mary Prep might still be hurting after the 19-8 defeat they got from Circle Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Lake Mary Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
