Aliyah Carranza was dynamite on Monday, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her fifth in a row with more than seven strikeouts. For the season, she has an ERA of 8.27 over 33 innings pitched.

Carranza's effort led Alhambra over Carl Hayden Community and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions are 8-2 against the Falcons going back to March of 2015, a lead they'll look to extend.
