Sherman (Texas) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Royse City (Texas), 41-17, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Tre Mask touchdown run in the second quarter, the Bearcats led 24-10 at the half.
Sherman grew its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored two times in the third, including once on a field goal by
Austin Roan.
The Bearcats has had a rough season, allowing 36.8 points per game. However, Sherman's defense dug in and limited the Bulldogs well above their season average of 2.0 points per game.
SHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 56-28.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Bearcats, who lost to Wylie East last week, 38-14. The victory snapped Sherman's two-game losing streak. The loss was the third in a row for Royse City.
In a 4A Region II District 13 game next week Royse City (1-6) takes on Wylie East, and Sherman (3-4) will go up against Lovejoy also in a 4A Region II District 13 game.
