After two weeks on the road, Independence is heading back home. On Thursday they will take on Coahoma Agricultural at 7:00 PM. Independence are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.
There's no need to mince words: Independence lost to Water Valley last Friday, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 7-55. Despite the defeat, Independence saw an underclassman step up: Sophomore Lundon Sandridge rushed for 87 yards and 1 touchdown.
Meanwhile, Coahoma Agricultural have been struggling to pick up a victory, with their match against Holly Springs making it four winless games in a row. Coahoma Agricultural didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 8-12 to Holly Springs.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
