Oak Hill is 8-2 against Mississinewa since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Oak Hill is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
On Wednesday, Oak Hill needed a bit of extra time to put away Eastbrook. They had just enough and edged out the Panthers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Golden Eagles have posted since April 9, 2024.
Lex Myers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Maddie Archer was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Mississinewa got the win against Kokomo on Wednesday by a conclusive 12-6. Considering the Indians have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Lilah Greer made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amiyaa Parr-Inman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Allie Trejo, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Mississinewa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kokomo only posted a batting average of .241.
Oak Hill pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mississinewa, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Both Oak Hill and Mississinewa just can't seem to miss. The Golden Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Mississinewa struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oak Hill was able to grind out a solid victory over Mississinewa in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-3. Do the Golden Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
