The Capital Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. Their tough 68-45 defeat to Rio Grande might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Capital has suffered since January 2nd.
Despite the defeat, Capital had strong showings from Annica Montoya, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, and Miranda Larranaga, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Capital has not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Rio Grande, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Albuquerque the next time they take the court. Capital will host Albuquerque at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Rio Grande will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
