Basketball Game Preview: Eastwood Troopers vs. Carter Cowboys

Eastwood is on a 15-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Carter is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Both will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastwood picked up another tournament win on Thursday. They walked away with a 46-39 win over Trinity Christian. Given the Troopers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Lions are ranked 361st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastwood can attribute much of their success to Devin Falk-Ramirez, who went 8 of 16 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds, and Julien Falk-Ramirez, who posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Devin's afternoon made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Bennett, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, Carter won against Oklahoma City S on Thursday with 63 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Carter strolled past OKC Storm North with points to spare, taking the game 63-46. That's two games straight that the Cowboys have won by exactly 17 points.

Eastwood has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Carter, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
