The Edisto Cougars will challenge the Branchville Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Edisto is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Edisto made easy work of Lake Marion and carried off a 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Bennie Ulmer spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 16 Ks.

At the plate, Edisto got a massive performance out of Hayden Turner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave Turner a new career-high. Wayne Felder was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Edisto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Branchville sidestepped Bamberg-Ehrhardt for a 5-4 victory.
Mason McCormack was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Jones, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Branchville's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Edisto, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
