If The Charlton County Indians were riding high off their 46-14 takedown of the Atkinson County Rebels two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Charlton County ended up on the wrong side of a tough 31-6 walloping at the hands of Clinch County on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 46 points in the game before, Charlton County couldn't push the score so high this time.
Leading Clinch County to victory were Jeremy Bell and Aaron Bryant. Bell gained 152 total yards and two touchdowns, while Bryant rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Bryant was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards.
Charlton County's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Clinch County, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlton County will take on Lanier County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clinch County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McIntosh County Academy at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. McIntosh County Academy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
