After losing to Licking Valley the last time they met, Watkins Memorial decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers on Tuesday, sneaking past  3-2. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Panthers on their court since September 27, 2022.
 Watkins Memorial was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-20, 23-25, 21-25, 26-24,  15-7.
 Morgan Cumbo paced Watkins Memorial's offense, picking up 12 kills. Cumbo got some help from  Ellah Bigham and her 37 assists.  Emily Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Watkins Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Licking Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watkins Memorial will square off against Whetstone at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Licking Valley, they will face off against Utica at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
