Basketball Recap: Landrum's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Landrum entered their tilt with Brashier Middle College Charter on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Brashier Middle College Charter Bengal 68-45. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Landrum to victory were Benett Edwards and Noah Dodd. Edwards went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points along with six assists and five boards, while Dodd went 5 for 9 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. The match was Edwards' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Coleman, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Landrum was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brashier Middle College Charter only racked up ten assists.

Andrew Hutchens and Ridge Bryson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hutchens went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points and five boards, while Bryson had 15 points. What's more, Hutchens also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nate Hagan, who put up six points.

Landrum is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Blacksburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.4 points per game this season. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they will face off against Greenville Tech Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brashier Middle College Charter is facing Greenville Tech Charter at the right time seeing as Greenville Tech Charter is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
