The Eastwood Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Oak Harbor Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Eastwood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
Eastwood can't be too worried about heading out to take on Oak Harbor: they just beat Lake at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Eagles came out on top against the Flyers by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
MacKenzie Hady made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jenna Lubash was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Addison Bowe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Oak Harbor came out on top against Rossford on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Rockets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs an 11-0 shutout. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.
Like Eastwood, Oak Harbor also got a great game from a two-way player: Morgan Lalonde. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Lalonde has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Schimmoeller, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Karder Haas, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Oak Harbor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive games.
Oak Harbor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Eastwood, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eastwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Oak Harbor struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Eastwood's way against Oak Harbor in their previous matchup back in April, as Eastwood made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
