Six Top 25 teams are featured this week.
While we don't have a 1 vs. 2 showdown this week there are plenty of big-time games featured.
The 7A Region 1 title is on the line between No. 12 Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) and Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.).
Two undefeated teams in Louisiana square off when No. 16 John Curtis Christian (River Ridge) and Archbishop Rummel (Metairie) lock horns. This is the seventh meeting since 2015 between the two and Curtis has won four straight.
The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference has at least one game featured every week because it's one of the most competitive leagues in high school football. This time DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) and St. John's (Washington, D.C.) are on tap. Both are in the "Next 5" group just outside of the Top 25 so a statement win on Saturday could get either one back in the rankings.
A big-time showdown in New Jersey is featured between St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City) and St. Joseph Regional (Montvale). Rich Hansen and the Marauders are looking to close out the regular season 9-0.
The other states featured this week are California, Florida, Ohio, Arizona, Hawaii, Alabama, and Utah.

During the MaxPreps' era (since 2004) DeMatha has dominated this series. The Stags have won 19 of the previous 22 but St. John's has dominated as of late winning the last three. This is a huge game for both teams. The Cadets control their own destiny when it comes to winning the WCAC title. They are 2-0 with the Stags and No. 22 Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) left on the schedule. A win for DeMatha makes things very interesting for the conference title.

St. Peter's Prep is one win away from closing out the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2007. The only thing standing in the Marauders' way is the defending non-public group IV champs, St. Joseph Regional. This is the 12th meeting between the two Jersey powers and the Green Knights have won nine of the previous 11.

The last time these played was in early October and St. Louis outscored Punahou 19-3 in the second half and won 25-19. That is the only one-score game the Crusaders have been in all season. The three-time defending state champs have won 35 in a row and six straight against Punahou. This is the 34th meeting between the two since 2004 and St. Louis has won 18 of the previous 33.

These two will face off for the third straight year and Hoover is hoping the third time is a charm. IMG Academy has outscored the Alabama power 80-28 in the previous two meetings. The Bucs have been one of the most relentless teams in the country. They lost their 4-star quarterback against Thompson (Alabaster, Ala.) but have won six straight since. Lundy has played very well and faces his toughest test of the season. The Ascenders lone loss this year came against No. 4 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore).

Mater Dei has clearly been the best team in the country this season. The Monarchs have played one of the toughest schedules and won every game by double-digits. Young has emerged as the front runner for Player of the Year honors but still has to get through one of the hardest postseason brackets in a few weeks. The 2020 Alabama commit has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 34 touchdowns while completing 72 percent of his passes. He also has over 300 yards rushing and nine more scores. The Monarchs are 11-2 against JSerra Catholic since 2006 with the Lions two wins coming in 2014 and 2015.

The Wolves bring in a 22-game winning streak and if they can extend it to 23 they'll be the top seed for the Arizona's new Open Division playoff bracket that features the top eight teams in the state. Hamilton's lone loss came against Brophy Prep (Phoenix) but have won two straight since. The Wolves are one of the highest scoring teams in the nation averaging over 54 points/game.

Lone Peak's 2-9 record looks a lot worse than it actually is because they had to forfeit five wins. The defending 6A state champs have lost four games on the field this year but all of those came by one score, including a 22-21 loss to Skyridge. This is the third meeting between the two since 2018 and the Falcons have won both by a combined four points. The winner moves on to the third round of 6A playoffs and plays the winner of the Hunter/Kearns matchup.

The Cardinals have won it outright or shared it every year since 2000. The Indians are 9-0 this season but have had no luck against the Cardinals during the MaxPreps era. They are 0-12 against Colerain since 2004 and the Ohio power has dominated during conference play winning 82 consecutive GMC games in a row.
