Calallen (Corpus Christi) became the all-time winningest high school football coach in Texas on Thursday night as his team posted 31-7 win over Flour Bluff in the 30-5A district title game.
It was victory No. 427 in Danaher's career, helping him surpass G.A. Moore for the top spot on the state's coaching wins list.
The 67-year old began his head coaching career in 1974 at
Dilley. He's been at Calallen since 1984 and led the Wildcats to the Class 4A Division II title game in 2005.
Calallen has earned a trip to the postseason in Texas every year since 1985.
