No. 7
Allen (Texas) got 127 yards rushing from
Brock Sturges and a huge 92-yard kickoff return for a score by
Taj Bickham to defeat
Trinity (Euless) 34-25 at home in a first-round Class 6A-D1 playoff game on Friday night.
It was definitely not a knockout.
Bickham returned the second-half kickoff the distance to give Allen a 24-13 lead before Trinity took the lead 25-24 on touchdown runs of 15 and 9 yards by
Courage Keihn, the latter on the first play of the fourth quarter.

Michael Ewton 20-yard field goal with 9:35 to play before quarterback
Mitchell Jonke put it away with a 5-yard scoring run with 1:50 remaining.
Jonke threw for 99 yards and a touchdown to help offset a big night from Keihn, who not only ran for 158 yards and three scores, but also caught three passes for 41 yards.
Allen is trying to win its fifth state championship in nine seasons. Trinity (7-4) was after its third crown since 2005. This is the 19th consecutive postseason berth for Trinity and 18th in a row for Allen.

Mitchell Jonke (2) scored the game-clinching touchdown late in the fourth quarter for Allen.
