Oklahoma high school football rankings: No. 1 Bixby survives No. 3 Jenks

Late defensive stand helps keep Spartans in the top spot; Four teams enter Top 25.

The state's top-ranked team Bixby survived a tough test against No. 3 Jenks on Friday night. A late defensive stand in the final minute helped the Spartans pull out a 42-35 victory.

Jenks dropped one spot in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Top 25 to No. 4.

Stillwater moved up to No. 3 after its opening-season victory over No. 24 Edmond Santa Fe, 45-32.

Four new teams powered through to earn spots in the Top 25: No. 25 Metro Christian (Tulsa), No. 23 Verdigris (Claremore), No. 20 Washington, and No. 16 Wagoner, which got off to a 1-0 start after beating Coweat 28-0. The Bulldogs host Tahlequah (1-0) on Friday night.
