It's Round Two for No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) and No. 2 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) along with No. 7 Katy (Texas) vs. No. 8 North Shore (Houston).

The Monarchs won 38-24 earlier this season and expect the rematch to be even more competitive. This is the fourth consecutive year they play in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship and Mater Dei has won the last two in a row.

No. 8 North Shore (Houston) got revenge on No. 7 Katy (Texas) rolling to a 56-35 win to advance to the 6A Division 1 quarterfinals. They will play either Tompkins (Katy) or Atascocita (Humble) with a spot in the semifinals on the line. 2021 Virginia Tech commit Dematrius Davis Jr. had a huge game accounting for nearly 500 yards of offense and six touchdowns.

Another Top 25 showdown was featured in the 7A Georgia quarterfinals between No. 15 McEachern (Powder Springs) and No. 24 North Gwinnett (Suwanee). The 2017 state champs dominated and handed the Indians their first loss of the season with a 32-13 victory. Up next for the Bulldogs is No. 10 Lowndes (Valdosta) who beat Grayson (Loganville) 28-20.

No. 11 Mentor (Ohio) had its perfect season came to an end in the Ohio Division 1 semifinals against Demeatric Crenshaw and Pickerington Central (Pickerington), 28-21. Expect the Tigers to jump into the rankings on Sunday. They will take on No. 22 Elder (Cincinnati) in the state championship. They beat Springfield 31-24 in the other semifinal.

No. 20 Armwood (Seffner) lost to Edgewater (Orlando) in the 7A semifinals and they will take on No. 5 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale) in the state championship. The Raiders rolled to a 42-0 win over Venice.
