How Clayton Valley Charter got here: The Ugly Eagles are finally heading to StubHub Center after they dominated Oakdale 28-7 in the Regional Bowl, avenging a 2012 loss to that team in the same game. They only threw the ball three times — and
Miles Harrison ran 33 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns. They won the North Coast Section Division II bracket with a 33-6 victory over Concord and during the regular season they were perfect, really only facing a challenge in a league matchup against Concord. During the NCS playoffs, they outscored foes 218-35.
Who got them here: With a team that runs so much, it's obvious that Harrison is the man. He has run 200 times for 2,380 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Nate Keisel is the quarterback and he doesn't pass much but he doesn't turn the ball over. He has 19 touchdown throws and just one interception in 95 attempts.
Justin Zapanta leads the team with 12 catches, 413 yards and six scores. On defense, which is just as good as the offense,
Rich Peralta leads the team with 127 tackles at linebacker. Defensive end
Sean Vaisima has 5.5 sacks as well.
Their bowl history: Clayton Valley Charter lost to Oakdale in a 2012 Division II Regional Bowl.

How Redlands East Valley got here: The Wildcats went berserk in the second half to defeat Ridgeview (Bakersfield) 59-42 in the Regional Bowl, scoring five touchdowns in a row at one point.
John Hilfer scored three touchdowns and Oregon commit
Malik Lovette caught four passes for 141 yards. They won the Southern Section Inland Division title with a 36-31 victory over Poly (Riverside), which was undefeated coming in. During the regular season their only loss was to St. Bonaventure (Ventura), a Pac 5 playoff team. Aside from the loss to St. Bonny, each of their nine regular season games were decided by at least 16 points.
Who got them here: Sophomore sensation
Armando Herrera got his team into the playoffs then had to take some time away with an injury. He came back for the Regional Bowl and led his team to victory. His season totals are 219 of 331 passing for 3,576 yards and 40 touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
Joey Harman is the leading rusher with 1,488 yards and 13 scores. It's more of a passing offense, for sure, and both
Khris Vaughn (59 catches, 1,202 yards, 15 TDs) and Lovette (61-990-8) have big stat lines this season. On defense, linebacker
Jakob Diaz leads the team in tackles at 202 and
Isaiah Armstrong is tied for sixth in the nation with 12 interceptions.
Their bowl history: The Wildcats have never played in a State Bowl Game.
