Video: HCS punt return for 6

Hesperia Christian (Calif.) were easily mistaken regarding the final score. It's hard to blame the scorekeeper or the school - there were simply too many points to fit on the board.
The Patriots racked up an astonishing 101 points in their 8-man victory over New Designs University Park (Los Angeles), and they allowed just six in the huge victory. Eight-man or not, that's a downpour of points and a victory margin that no school in the country has reached this season.
About the only thing the score didn't do was reach the 8-man national high this season. That distinction belongs to Bloomfield (Neb.), which tallied 102 points.
New Designs hasn't had a football team since 2009, according to the MaxPreps database, and this season has been a tough one for Cardinals (0-6). Hesperia Christian had varsity teams in recent years but after a short hiatus has fielded a team the last three seasons - and this year has by far been the most successful at 5-0.
It can be a tough life in the 8-man world, as small schools with small rosters often do battle in games where experience levels vary wildly. Big point margins are much more common than in the 11-man game, where larger schools and deeper rosters typically face off. HCHS has just 15 players on its MaxPreps roster and NDUP has 25.
