Video: Top 25 high school football rankings Three new teams join the MaxPreps rankings after state title wins.
It's the calm before the storm this week as Composite Top 25 No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) prepares to take on De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) in the CIF Open Division title game at Cerritos College on Dec. 14.
Should the Braves win, they'd likely be the No. 1 team in the country. If they Spartans prevail? Well, that opens it up to teams like Duncanville (Texas) and St. Frances Academy (Baltimore) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) to make their case.
How will it all play out? Stay tuned.
Thompson (Alabaster, Ala.), Pickerington Central (Pickerington, Ohio) and Guyer (Dentor, Texas) were the three new teams to enter the Composite Top 25 rankings.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.
