The 2021 high school football season in Michigan kicks off next week and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. After winning its first state title in school history last season, West Bloomfield is back to claim the No. 1 spot in our preseason rankings.
West Bloomfield will miss star running back Donovan Edwards (now at Michigan), but four-star prospects
Dillon Tatum (5-11, 190, ATH) and
Michael Williams (6-3, 220, LB) are among the Lakers expected to help fill the void.
Over the past four years, West Bloomfield has emerged as a powerhouse program in Michigan, compiling a 41-9 record with two championship game appearances.
In addition to West Bloomfield, defending state champions include Mona Shores in Division 2, DeWitt (Division 3), Detroit Country Day (Division 4), Catholic Central (Division 5), Montague (Division 6), New Lothrop (Division 7) and Centreville (Division 8).
