There has been a shake-up in the high school basketball landscape.
Bol Bol, a 7-foot-1 senior center in the middle of a recruiting battle between Kentucky and Oregon, is leaving
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) for
Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) according to
Steve Fryer of the Orange County Register.
Regarded as the No. 3 overall prospect in the Class of 2018 by
247Sports, Bol is arguably the top interior player in high school basketball.
Bol averaged 16.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game last season for Mater Dei, which finished 33-3 and reached California's Open Division Southern Regional final.
P.J. Fuller, a heralded junior guard, is also transferring from Mater Dei and heading back to Seattle. The Monarchs were No. 3 in MaxPreps.com's preseason national rankings but expectations may have to be revisited.
